Maserati struggles in the US as 60 of 86 dealers record zero sales in July 2026

Maserati’s US struggles deepen as dealer sales reportedly stall and first-half registrations fall nearly 46 percent.

As many as 60 of Maserati’s 86 US dealerships reportedly recorded zero sales during the first 25 days of August 2026. The figure came from the Car Dealership Guy account, which presented it as information gathered from the retail network rather than data released by Maserati or a public registry. Even so, the claim comes against an already troubling backdrop after a weak first half of the year.

The same report says another 13 dealers delivered only one vehicle, while just four locations managed to sell more than two. Those figures do not provide a complete national total and leave nine dealerships without a clear classification. They may have sold two cars or simply fallen outside the categories included in the summary. Treating the numbers as an official sales report would therefore be misleading, although the claim still reflects growing concern within parts of the dealer network.

Available registration data for the first half of 2026 already shows a substantial decline. Across the main markets tracked, Maserati fell from 4,366 vehicles to 2,737, a drop of roughly 37 percent year over year. The United States remains one of the Trident’s most important markets, yet registrations reportedly totaled just 876 vehicles, down nearly 46 percent from the same period in 2025.

Stellantis’ financial reports now make it more difficult to track Maserati’s performance directly. Starting January 1, 2026, the group stopped reporting Maserati as a separate business segment and folded its deliveries into regional operating results. That accounting change does not automatically conceal the brand’s performance, but it removes a quarterly reference point that previously gave analysts and dealers a much clearer basis for comparison.

Maserati GranTurismo

Maserati’s US lineup currently starts with the Grecale at $84,500, followed by the GranTurismo at $145,000 and the GranCabrio at $153,000. The MCPURA, MCPURA Cielo and GT2 Stradale occupy an even more exclusive part of the market. This strategy reflects Maserati’s effort to reduce its dependence on volume and focus more heavily on value, exclusivity and personalization.

The downside is a much higher entry point at a time when the brand has relatively few models capable of generating steady showroom traffic. That makes each product cycle more important and leaves dealers with fewer opportunities to attract customers at lower price points.

Complete August data and direct confirmation from Maserati will be necessary to determine whether the month represents an exceptional low or part of a broader trend. The current report does not establish exactly how many Maseratis reached US buyers, but it fits into an already visible decline and adds urgency to the need for a convincing product plan for both the American market and its dealer network.
