The Leapmotor B05 will make its first public appearance in Brazil at the Interlagos Festival, scheduled for August 27-30, 2026, at the José Carlos Pace circuit in São Paulo. Leapmotor has not yet confirmed plans to sell the model in the country and will use the event to gauge public reaction to a C-segment electric hatchback, a body style far less common than the SUVs that dominate much of the local market.
Leapmotor B05 makes its Brazilian debut at Interlagos with 218 hp
Already available in some European markets, the B05 measures 4.43 meters long and 1.88 meters wide, with a 2.73-meter wheelbase. Its proportions maximize the space between the axles without turning the model into a crossover, while the low body and sloping rear window give it a profile closer to that of a sporty compact. Descriptions that call the B05 a sedan are therefore inaccurate, as Leapmotor officially presents the model as a hatchback.
A rear-mounted electric motor produces 218 hp and 177 lb-ft (240 Nm) of torque, allowing the B05 to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 6.7 seconds with launch assistance. A 50:50 weight distribution and suspension tuning developed with input from Stellantis specialists aim to deliver sharper responses than drivers typically expect from front-wheel-drive compact EVs.
The international lineup offers a 56.2-kWh battery with a WLTP range of 401 km, or 249 miles, while the larger 67.1-kWh ProMax battery increases the claimed range to 482 km, or about 300 miles. The ProMax version supports DC charging at up to 174 kW and can charge from 30% to 80% in roughly 17 minutes under the conditions specified by Leapmotor.
The company has not revealed which version it will display at Interlagos or what specifications a potential Brazilian-market model could use.
Inside, the B05 uses soft-touch materials in key contact areas and takes advantage of a Cell-to-Chassis architecture, which integrates the battery directly into the vehicle structure to free up additional space. European versions also offer 21 driver-assistance systems supported by 14 sensors and cameras, although equipment and homologation requirements could change if Leapmotor decides to launch the car in Brazil.
Leapmotor will display the B05 alongside models it already sells in the country and will also introduce the B10 Ultra-Hybrid with REEV technology to Brazilian customers for the first time. Unlike the B05, the B10 Ultra-Hybrid is already set to become the brand’s next local launch.
The B05’s appearance at Interlagos remains an opportunity for Leapmotor to measure potential customer interest rather than a confirmation of local sales or an upcoming order opening.
