Chrysler invented the minivan. They literally created the segment in the early 1980s, at a time when station wagons were the law of the land and nobody had thought to ask whether a family of five might actually enjoy sliding doors. Forty-something years later, the brand is still here, still selling minivans, and still apparently winning. The 2027 Chrysler Pacifica, unveiled at the New York International Auto Show, is proof that sometimes the best strategy is simply to keep doing what you’re good at.

The most immediately visible change is upfront. The Select, Limited, and Pinnacle trims receive a redesigned front fascia featuring vertical LED headlights and an illuminated grille. It looks sharper, more intentional. The new winged Chrysler logo finally makes it onto a production vehicle. Cleaner, more digital, more 2027 than the outgoing badge, it appears prominently front and rear and quietly hides as an easter egg in other design elements.

The entry-level trim gets a rename too. Formerly the Voyager, it’s now the Pacifica LX, starting at $41,495 before destination charges. It keeps the power sliding doors, heated seats, and heated steering wheel that buyers in this segment have come to treat as non-negotiable.
On the safety front, the updated Safety Sphere package brings turn signal-activated blind-spot camera display and ParkSense-triggered camera activation. In other words, Chrysler is using every lens on the vehicle to make sure you don’t back into a shopping cart at Costco. Appreciated.

Then there’s the Stow ‘n Go system, which remains one of the most genuinely clever pieces of automotive engineering that never gets the credit it deserves. Second and third-row seats fold flat into the floor in seconds, freeing up over 140 cubic feet of cargo space. The underfloor bins provide additional accessible storage when the seats are stowed. The Pacifica is the only vehicle in the segment that pairs Stow ‘n Go with available all-wheel drive.
New body colors and fresh wheel designs round out the updates. Nothing that will make anyone’s jaw drop, but nothing that needed to. The Chrysler Pacifica 2027 plays solid, consistent baseball in a segment where it’s been batting for four decades.
