The Fiat Fastback is expanding its Brazilian lineup for the 2027 model year by turning the previous Smart Drive package into a standalone trim and adding the new BlackMotion special edition. Smart Drive became available on August 20 at R$127,990, or about $24,900, while BlackMotion will arrive in September at R$129,980, roughly $25,300.
Fiat Fastback grows for 2027 with new Smart Drive and BlackMotion trims
Smart Drive builds on the Turbo 200 and keeps the 1.0-liter turbo flex-fuel engine paired with a CVT, while the upgrades focus on features customers requested most often. A rearview camera makes parking easier alongside the sensors already included on the base version, while keyless entry, remote start and wireless smartphone charging improve everyday convenience. Body-colored door handles and black mirror caps help distinguish Smart Drive from the entry-level configuration.
Frederico Battaglia, head of Fiat and Abarth for South America, described the new trim as “a direct response to the excellent reception” of the package offered on the 2026 lineup. Turning it into a dedicated version removes the need for customers to add the option separately to the Turbo 200 and gives Fiat’s most requested features a clearer position in the range.
The BlackMotion uses Smart Drive as its starting point but adds a darker appearance without changing the engine or suspension setup. Gloss-black 17-inch wheels match the treatment applied to the Fiat logo, lower bumper trim and air-intake surrounds, while a two-tone roof adds contrast to the body. Inside, a 10.1-inch infotainment display replaces the 8.4-inch unit found in Smart Drive.
The Audace and Impetus continue to use the T200 mild-hybrid system, combining the turbocharged three-cylinder engine with electric assistance to reduce fuel consumption and emissions. Impetus adds 18-inch wheels, leather upholstery and a digital instrument cluster, while Fiat offers connected services and additional driver-assistance features through optional packages.
The Fastback Abarth remains at the top of the lineup with the T270 engine, producing 185 hp and 199 lb-ft (270 Nm) of torque through a six-speed automatic transmission. Running on ethanol, it accelerates from 0 to 62 mph in 7.6 seconds and reaches 137 mph (220 km/h), while retaining a more performance-focused setup than the rest of the range.
The Fastback lineup starts with the Turbo 200 at R$119,990, about $23,350. Audace costs R$168,490, around $32,800, Impetus reaches R$174,490, about $33,950, and the Abarth tops the range at R$184,490, approximately $35,900.
