Jeep plans to expand its European lineup from the current Avenger and Compass to six models by 2030, giving the brand broader coverage across the B, C and D segments. The strategy outlined by Fabio Catone, head of Jeep Europe, includes two new compact SUVs, the electric Recon and a larger model developed with Dongfeng. Jeep has not yet officially linked historic names such as Renegade and Cherokee to any of the upcoming vehicles.

Jeep Avenger 2027

The Jeep Avenger will continue to serve as the entry point to the lineup after surpassing 280,000 orders, with electrified versions accounting for 60% of the total. The 2026 update retained a broad choice of gasoline, e-Hybrid, electric and 4xe powertrains while adding new features without changing the basic formula of a model designed specifically for European customers.

The Jeep Compass covers the C segment with a body measuring around 4.55 meters long and the STLA Medium platform underneath. The lineup includes a 145-hp e-Hybrid, a 225-hp plug-in hybrid and three electric variants. Among them, the front-wheel-drive Long Range version offers up to 674 km WLTP, or roughly 419 miles. The electric 4xe uses two motors, produces 375 hp and combines all-wheel drive with more than 600 km, or around 373 miles, of range.

The two models that will slot between Avenger and Compass will use the new STLA One architecture, which can support multiple powertrain types and vehicles across the B, C and D segments. Jeep describes them as two separate SUVs, one smaller and one larger, with all-wheel drive available on both. One could effectively take the place of the Renegade, which ended European production in 2025, although Jeep has not confirmed the return of that name.

The future D-segment SUV will come from Jeep’s industrial partnership with Dongfeng and use production capacity in China through the DPCA joint venture. Stellantis has confirmed plans for two Jeep and two Peugeot models with electric or plug-in hybrid powertrains, including versions intended for export markets. Jeep will contribute to the design and chassis tuning in an effort to give the SUV a distinct identity from existing Dongfeng products.

The Jeep Recon will follow a different path because the company has already revealed the model with 650 hp, 619 lb-ft (840 Nm) of torque and an estimated range of around 250 miles (402 km). Four-wheel drive, Selec-Terrain and Trail Rated capability reinforce its off-road focus, while owners can remove the doors, rear side glass and rear window without tools.

Jeep plans to expand Recon sales globally during the fourth quarter of 2026 after its initial launch in the United States and Canada. The company will define European availability, specifications and trim levels separately.
