Maserati will bring the MCPura Cielo to the 2026 Edmonton Auto Experience, which will take place from April 9 through April 12 in Hall F at booth 4009, with a press debut scheduled for April 8. The open-top supercar from the Trident brand represents the latest evolution of the MC20 Cielo and reaches the Canadian market as one of the most exclusive models currently offered in Maserati’s lineup. It will join the Grecale, GranTurismo, and GranCabrio as part of the brand’s strategy to strengthen its presence in the upper end of the North American market.

The Maserati MCPura Cielo stands out first of all for its retractable electrochromic PDLC glass roof, which can switch instantly from transparent to opaque and open completely in just 12 seconds. With a simple command, it transforms the driving experience from that of a closed coupe to a fully open car.

Compared with the MC20 Cielo on which it is based, this evolution introduces a series of styling changes that give it greater visual impact. Maserati has redesigned the front and rear bumpers, revised the rear section with elements drawn from the GT2 Stradale, added a large fixed spoiler, and fitted new Cyclone wheels. The cabin also receives meaningful updates through wider use of Alcantara and a steering wheel inspired by the world of GT2 racing, details that strengthen the link between this car and the brand’s motorsport commitment.

Under the hood sits Maserati’s in-house 3.0-liter twin-turbo Nettuno V6, an engine that uses pre-chamber combustion technology derived from Formula 1 and delivers 621 horsepower. That output gives the car serious performance both on the road and on track. A carbon-fiber structure helps keep overall weight under control, while butterfly doors add a dramatic element that has now become a defining part of the MC20 family’s identity.

According to Andrea Soriani, head of Maserati Americas, the MCPura Cielo brings together the values the brand wants to express at this stage, combining strong performance, engineering sophistication, and the emotional dimension that Maserati sees as inseparable from its heritage. Its arrival in Canada comes at a time when the brand is trying to strengthen its visibility in North America through a lineup that covers different segments but remains united by a premium position and a distinctly Italian design identity.
